9:30 AM Thursday

Good morning, East Tennessee!

Today’s weather won’t be very different from yesterday’s. A southerly wind flow will continue to pump very warm and humid air across the region. Again, we’ll see another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Severe weather is not expected, but some storms may produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Look for partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies today. Temps will rise into the mid- to low-80s.

Tonight, we’ll see a slight chance of showers and storms. Partly to mostly cloudy skies with lows in the low- to mid-60s.

Friday, we’ll still see about a 40% chance of storms region-wide, but skies should be a bit clearer and partly sunny. Highs will be in the mid-80s.

Saturday, there is only a slight chance of thundershowers. Skies will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-80s.

A front will approach and slide across the region Sunday and Monday, making showers and thunderstorms likely once again. We’re not expecting severe weather at this time, but we are keeping a close watch on the situation. Strong t-storms are possible. Temps will cool off just a tad for Monday, but highs will still be in 80s.
