10:00 AM Monday

Good morning, East Tennessee!

Today we will see another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Like yesterday, a few storms may be strong to severe this afternoon and evening. The main threats include damaging winds in excess of 60 mph, large hail up to an inch in diameter, and heavy rainfall which may cause flash flooding. Even so, the Storm Prediction Center has placed East Tennessee only in a “marginal” threat for today. Skies will remain mostly cloudy today with highs in the low-80s.

Tonight, the severe threat will diminish but we will likely see a few lingering showers and storms. Skies will be mostly cloudy with temps dipping into the upper-50s to mid-60s.

Stormy weather will continue through the rest of the work week. Although strong to severe t-storms are possible, overall the threat is low. Temps will be a tad cooler for mid-week, with highs in the upper-70s to low-80s. Things will heat back up heading into the weekend.
